Human Resources Manager
Within the framework of the management development program for a group of AVT managers an outdoor training day was planned the objective of which was experiential learning focusing on the personal and group skills and behaviors of the participants.
We decided to hold the day only after a number of training meetings and this with the objective that the participants would arrive at this day after managerial and other issues had already been discussed within the framework of the group training.
Although the weather was not on our side and most of the activities were transferred to an indoor hall this did not affect the intensity of the experience and the learning.
Over and above the enjoyment on the day (which it was clear to us was an integral part of the day) the reason that we chose to integrate such a day in the program was learning.
And indeed there was learning, the pennies dropped gradually and there certainly were insights as regards how to reach an objective while using the group as a well-oiled machine or how to activate the individuals in the group.
The processing of the activity stage which enabled the group to convene and think things through was very significant. Izhar succeeded in navigating the group, helped reflect and gave feedback, asked the right questions and gave a lot of food for thought to each of the participants.
There is no doubt that each participant and the entire organization “gained” something from this activity day – as far as we are concerned the objective was achieved.
Yours,
Human Resources Manager
